The School of Management currently comprises four departments: the Department of Business Administration, the Department of Accounting, the Department of Marketing and E-Commerce, and the Department of Human Resource Management. Meanwhile, it has established research institutions that integrate the research strength of the entire school, such as the Institute of Corporate Strategy, the Institute of Human Resource Strategy, and the Center for Brand and Service Management Research.

These departments and research institutions undertake the teaching and scientific research work for 5 undergraduate majors (Business Administration, Accounting, Financial Management, E-Commerce, Marketing), 2 master’s programs (Business Management, Accounting), 1 national first-level discipline doctoral program (Business Administration), and 4 second-level discipline doctoral programs (Business Management, Accounting, Technology Economics and Management, Human Resource Management).

In 2002, our Corporate Management program was recognized as a National Key Second-Level Discipline. The first-level discipline of Business Administration was designated as a Jiangsu Provincial Key Discipline in 2003, and as a Jiangsu Provincial Advantage Discipline in 2011. The second-level discipline of Accounting was designated as the only provincial key discipline in Accounting in Jiangsu Province in 2003. Additionally, two of our undergraduate programs—Business Administration and Accounting—were designated as National First-Class Undergraduate Program Construction Sites in 2019.


Faculty and Research Achievements

The School of Management is home to 96 faculty members, including 41 professors and 25 associate professors. Over 98% of the faculty hold doctoral degrees from renowned universities both in China and abroad. They have conducted extensive and valuable scientific research in fields such as management theory, human resource management, corporate strategy and organization, technological innovation, marketing, accounting, and financial management, generating significant impact within the academic community.


Education and Teaching Excellence

Since 2012, faculty members have undertaken over 110 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), along with numerous provincial and ministerial-level projects. They have published a vast number of high-quality academic papers and received 32 research or teaching awards at the provincial/ministerial level or above. The faculty includes instructors for 4 National Excellent Courses and authors of 4 Excellent Textbooks. The school's distinguished talent roster features 3 Chang Jiang Scholars Distinguished Professors, 1 recipient of the NSFC Distinguished Young Scholars Fund, 1 Chang Jiang Scholar Young Scholar, 3 recipients of the NSFC Excellent Young Scholars Fund, 4 scholars under the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University, 1 member of the Million Talents Project, 1 Chief Expert of the Marxism Theory Research and Construction Project (Ma Project), and 2 scholars in the Ministry of Finance's Accounting Masters Training Project. In 2011, the school established the Jiangsu Enterprise Talent Development Research off-campus research base for humanities and social sciences in Jiangsu universities. Since 1992, the school has conducted 10 MBA programs in Singapore and, in collaboration with foreign universities, has successfully hosted 9 International Symposia on Multinational Operations of Enterprises.


Social Service and Impact

Looking ahead, the Business Administration discipline at Nanjing University will continue to be rooted in local practices, dedicated to creating management knowledge with international influence, and cultivating management elites with innovative spirits and humanistic care for the nation and society.
